Prevention of Occupational Violence (OVA) Training
Work-related violence and aggression is in increasing issue for many industries and workplaces, and it is critical that managers and employees are equipped with the skills and confidence to be able to manage potential and actual incidents involving occupational violence and aggression.
This training is delivered by trainers who have significant experience mitigating the effects of work-related violence and aggression, both in the field and in the training room.
Learning outcomes include:
- Defining different types of violence (physical, psychological, verbal, sexual), identifying risk factors, and recognizing warning signs.
- Implementing prevention strategies - developing and implementing workplace policies and procedures to prevent and mitigate violence and aggression.
- Understanding dynamic risk assessment principles when faced with a potentially violence or aggressive situation.
- Exploring the key role effective person-centered communication skills play in reducing the risk of violence and aggression.
- Crisis communication tips and strategies.
- Post-incident reporting, debriefing and support.
COURSE DURATION
Half Day Course
All courses (with the exception of WorkSafe approved courses) can be customised according to the specific requirements and objectives of your organisation, and can be delivered by our experienced and dynamic trainers either in person or online via Zoom.
All participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
